HI GOD 6 WINS

UNITY AWARD FOR 2008!

We’re please to share with you the news that Carey Landry and Carol   Jean Kinghorn have received the United Catholic Music and Video Association’s UNITY AWARD for their newest recording for children,  HI GOD 6.  The Association’s purpose is to support, encourage and promote the development of all forms of Catholic oriented Christian   music and video.  

The award was presented at the Association’s annual event which was  held in New Orleans on October 25, 2008.  A representative of Oregon Catholic Press (OCP) accepted the award on behalf of Carey and Carol Jean, and read their acceptance:

“Carey Landry and Carol Jean Kinghorn are deeply grateful for the honor of receiving   this award.  In their own words, they say:  We wish to thank the United Catholic     Music and Video Association and all those who voted for HI GOD 6.  We also wish to thank OCP, our publisher, for the great support we have received on this project and     on all our recording projects.  We have had the wonderful privilege of writing and recording music for the religious education and prayer of children for the past 36 years.  For us, this award tonight honors all the Hi God recordings and our other recordings     for children.  May God be praised, and we pray that this collection helps children to   sing the praises of God.  Thank you again for this wonderful honor!”
 

The Unity Award is considered to be the “Catholic Grammy”, and the equivalent of the Dove Award in the Christian contemporary music field.   Congratulations to Carey and Carol Jean on this significant recognition of their efforts!
