Partners In Life

From the first time they met in 1972, Carey was amazed by the way Carol Jean used his "adult" music to reach children.  She challenged him to expand his ministry by crafting songs specifically for kids.  Soon they were combining Carol Jean's experience as a teacher with Carey's strengths as a composer to create the very successful Hi God religious education series.

Carey and Carol Jean are partners in marriage as well as in ministry and have given workshops and concerts throughout the U.S. and Canada, Australia, Central America, Europe, Ireland and Scotland.  Their music is known and used worldwide.  They are responsible for some of the world's best-known liturgical music and catechetical resources for children.  They serve as Ministers of Music at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Indianapolis, where they direct the Children's Choir together and Carey directs the Adult Choir.

In addition to their music ministry, Carey and Carol Jean both serve as Hospital Chaplains at St. Vincent Hospital in their home town of Carmel, Indiana.  Carey is Certified as a Chaplain by the National Association of Catholic Chaplains and Carol serves as a Volunteer Chaplain.   Carey received a master's degree from the Catholic University of America and has studied music at St. Joseph's College, Renssalaer, Indiana.  Carol Jean received her master's degree in education from Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana.

"We're absolutely thrilled to...bring to people music they can sing and can participate in, and music that children can use in liturgy, in catechetics and at home."
